Top Performers - Memorial Day Mayhem, Round 1

The Memorial Day Mayhem has begun. With the start of the tournament comes great responsibility...wait, this isn't the Spiderman blog...nevermind. Round 1 of the Memorial Day Mayhem gave us some amazing performances on both sides of the ball. Both of my picks for the Round 1 Top Performers come from the Yankee Organization. Each were clear cut winners as their performances stood out above the rest.

Top Performer: Hitting

-d1nonly2, Bombers

d1nonly2 has been on fire on the tournament end of things. Fresh off a Saturday Blast MVP award, d1nonly2 is back on the podium with a Top Performer Award. This may be d1's first TPA, but if he continues on his rampage he might be in store for a lot more. d1nonly2 launched 4 homeruns and accounted for 9 RBIs. With 6 hits on the night, d1nonly2 helped his team put up 15 runs on FlightNL as they cruised to victory.

Top Performer: Pitching

-ElDuque, Empire

One word, wow. Pitching 6 innings in a RBO game is hard enough. RBO leaves most pitchers in need of therapy. ElDuque put up a Grade A performance pitching a 4 hit shutout against ReJected. Shutouts are rare enough in a 3 inning PUG affair, but to do it in the heat of the tournament clubhouse is truly amazing. ReJected left the field demoralized after batting a mere .182 in the game. Possibly related to the Big Unit, Randy Johnson, the Big Gay Latino threw a gem in the Empire win.

Congrats to ElDuque and d1nonly2 for winning their 1st Top Performer Awards.
