Cinco De Mayo: Round 1 Top Performers

Hola, NEWBert checkin' in for the 1st time in this blog...I'll be giving out Top Performers awards for each round of the Cinco de Mayo Tournament (and whatever other tournaments are worth noting). Hopefully Cinco de Mayo didn't get the best of y'all.

Round 1 of the Cinco de Mayo Tournament saw some solid games, but only 2 players (one hitter, one pitcher) can receive my prestigious "Top Performer" award.

Top Performer: Hitting

- Junior03, Masters

Junior03 may have given up 10 runs in the first 2 innings of play, but his offensive production made up for it. In the 9 inning war of attrition against RotoWire he managed 8 hits in 12 at bats. Don't think Junior03 just big-blued his way to 1st base, either. Junior carried his weight (and then some) blasting 3 homers and knocking 3 doubles off RotoWire ace, Boget. In total he amounted for 7 RBIs, and scored 5 runs. The Masters certainly needed to hit well off Boget to pickup the upset victory and Junior made that happen.

Props to Junior03 for notching his 1st career Top Performer Award.

Top Performer: Pitching

- WCKDPERK, T.Tech

WCKDPERK helped T.Tech cruise into the 2nd round with 4 innings pitched against Ripit. He registered 6 K's and really dominated the Ripit squad, holding them to a .294 batting average. WCKDPERK may have faced what appears to be a weaker offense in the Elite League, but he did a damn good job. Pitching is never easy in REAL baseball and that's why my 2nd Top Performer Award goes to WCKDPERK of T.Tech.

Props to WCKDPERK for earning his 1st career Top Performer Award.
